Why I’m Launching a Development Accelerator (And Why I Almost Didn’t)
My first ever pitch and packaging mentorship course starts November 1st.
Hey Filmmakers,
I’m going to be really honest here. Launching this program, The Script to Screen Development Accelerator, is something I’ve been wrestling with for a while. As a producer, I’m used to working behind the scenes, making things happen quietly, pulling strings without much fanfare. But opening up, putting myself out there as someone offering guidance, feels… vulnerable.
Here’s the truth:
I’ve seen far too many talented filmmakers with incredible scripts never get a shot. It’s frustrating and heartbreaking. Not because their work isn’t good enough, but because they don’t know how to package their projects or navigate the often-confusing world of pitching and financing. I know how isolating that can feel, especially when all you want is for someone to see your vision.
Why I Had Doubts
I kept asking myself, “Who am I to teach others how to succeed?” Even though I’ve developed countless projects, helped secure funding, and worked with talented directors and writers, the idea of leading a program felt like a big leap. I’ve been there, in the trenches, facing rejection, pushing through roadblocks, and dealing with the reality of how tough this industry can be.
But that’s exactly why I need to do this.
Why I’m Doing This Anyway
I’ve realized that if I don’t share what I’ve learned—if I don’t at least try to help—then I’m part of the problem. The knowledge I have about taking a script from the page to production isn’t meant to stay with me. It’s meant to be passed on, especially to those who have the talent and drive but just need someone to guide them through the tough parts.
That’s why I created the Script to Screen Development Accelerator. It’s for those of you who are ready to do the work but maybe feel like the industry is this insurmountable wall. You’ve got the script, the vision, the passion—but now what?
This program is designed to fill that gap.
What I’m Offering:
Real, Honest Feedback: Not the sugar-coated stuff. I’ll help you refine your script so it doesn’t just sit in a drawer but becomes something producers and investors need to see.
Packaging 101: We’ll walk through how to create a package that sells, how to attach talent, and how to present your project in a way that gets people excited.
Pitching with Confidence: I know how nerve-wracking it is to pitch. I’ll teach you how to do it without feeling like you’re stumbling over your words.
This program will run for 6 weeks, starting November 1, and if I’m being completely transparent, it’s a little scary to put myself in this position. But I know it’s necessary.
Cost Of The Program: $499
I know many people are struggling so I am offering this tailored script and packaging mentorship at the cost of what most script editors charge for a single pass. I wish I could offer it for free but I have to be realistic about what I can offer and what fee will allow me to give every student the proper attention.
Why I Need You to Join the Waitlist
I want to give this Accelerator my all, and that means keeping the group small. There’s only so much space, and I need to focus on those who are really ready to move forward. By joining the waitlist, you’ll be the first in line when applications open, and you’ll secure your shot at being part of this.
Why It’s Worth It
I know what it’s like to doubt whether your project will ever be seen or appreciated. I know what it’s like to question if you even belong in this industry. But I also know that without risk, without putting yourself out there, nothing changes.
So here I am, stepping out of my comfort zone because I believe this is important. If you’re ready to take your script seriously—if you’re ready to push past your own doubts—then I want you to join me.
We’ll figure this out together, and I’ll be right there with you.
With all my heart,
Christine Ahanotu
Producer, Lifting The Curtain
P.S. This isn’t going to be some massive, impersonal course. It’s going to be hands-on, real, and raw—just like the filmmaking process itself. Join the waitlist now if you’re ready to take that next step.
Hi Christine, I am very interested in what you have to say about the industry. Now that you are putting yourself out there, I am very interested to see some of the product that you have produced. What are some of your major accomplishments and what project are you most proud of?
